で。仏教って結局何なの？

ブログを公開してから「仏教って何なの？」って
興味をもってくれる方がいるんですけど、
実は、この質問って答えるの難しいんですよね。
なんでかって言うと、インドで発祥した仏教は、
時代とか地域の影響を受けて、その時々の様々な解釈を伴いながら各地に広まったからです。
つまり仏教って、いろんな解釈できるんですね。
でもやっぱり根本的なところで言いますと、
仏教って「釈迦が説いた教え」ってふうに定義するんですけど、
ここでやっかいなのは今言った通り、
仏教が変わっていったんじゃなく、仏教の解釈が多様化してしまったんですね。
だから現代のお坊さんっていうのは、
抽象的な表現が多用されている曲の真意を議論しまくってるファンみたいな感じかもしれません。
で、結局なんなの？
いろんな説明の仕方がありますけど、
僕個人としては仏教は転迷開悟だと説明するのが一番しっくりきますし、
初期仏教を中心に、基本的なコンセプトを体系的に理解できる表現だと思っています。
転迷開悟というのは、文字通り、
迷い（偏ったものの見方や物事はこうあるべきという執着心）
を転じて（転換して）
悟り（なにものにとらわれることのない境地）
を開く（至る）
という意味です。
だから
仏教ってのは、
迷いの原因や心の動きを解き明かして、どうすれば悟りを開けるかを探求する実践哲学
みたいなものです。
だからやっぱり欧米の宗教と違って、
何かを信じる/信じないっていう外向きのベクトルじゃなくて、
自分の心を見つめる/内省する内向きのベクトルなんですよね。
外向きも内向きもそれぞれにいいところがありますから、
自分にあった考え方っていうのを見つけてもらえたらなと思います。

So.... what is Buddhism?
Some friends became interested in Buddhism since I started to introduce its idea. But it is not easy to explain what Buddhism is. As you know, Buddhism was born in ancient India, and then it spread to other countries.
In the process, it is one of the most important that various possible interpretations of Buddhism were born. So some scholars don’t think Japanese Buddhism as genuine.
Including this viewpoint, I think the core idea of Buddhism is Ten-Mei-Kai-Go (転迷開悟).
Its idea can explain the essence simply and systematically. Even if it is concerned about Japanese Buddhism or minor Buddhism.
Ten-Mei-Kai-Go (転迷開悟) means as follow.
Ten(転): Blind passion and Attachment
Mei(迷): Turning mind
Kai(開): Getting
Go (悟): Enlightenment / Awaking / Realization /
The mental state which is not attached to anything.
Buddhism is the philosophy turning one’s mind from the blind passion and the attachment practically. So, we observe our own mind and meditate.
If you have lived in other religion culture, you will realize the characteristics. Buddhists do not so much believe in something such as the external omniscient and omnipotent as observe themselves internally.
Of course, both characteristics are attractive to me, though.
